Vicky Pryce is Chief Economic Adviser and a board member at the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR). She was previously  Director General for Economics at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Joint Head of the UK Government Economic Service. Before that she was Partner at the accounting and consulting firm KPMG after senior economic positions in banking and the oil sector. She is a Fellow and Council member of the UK Academy for Social Sciences, a Fellow of the Society of Professional Economists , a Companion of the British Academy of Management, on the Advisory board of the Better Statistics Committee and a Visiting Professor at BCU and King’s College, London. She is co-founder of GoodCorporation, a company set up to advise on corporate social responsibly, a patron of Pro Bono Economics and a  member of the Advisory Board of the central banking think-tank OMFIF. 

Her books include: “Greekonomics: The Euro crisis and Why Politicians Don’t Get It”; “It’s the Economy, Stupid– Economics for Voters”, with Ross and Urwin;; and “Redesigning Manufacturing”, with Nielsen and Beverland”. Her latest book, “Women vs Capitalism”, was published by Hurst in November 2019

Lord John Alderdice

Lord John Alderdyce

John Alderdice, Baron Alderdice, of Knock in the City of Belfast  is a former Northern Ireland politician. As Leader of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland he played a significant role in negotiating the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, and when the Northern Ireland Assembly was elected, he became its first Speaker. Since 1996 has sat in the House of Lords as a Liberal Democrat. He is a Presidente d’Honneur of  Liberal International.

Previously a consultant psychiatrist at the Centre for Psychotherapy he established in Belfast, Lord Alderdice was also until recently a Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland (Baltimore), and is a Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College (University of Oxford), Director of the Centre for the Resolution of Intractable Conflict and Executive Chairman of The Changing Character of War Centre at Pembroke College, Oxford http://www.ccw.ox.ac.uk/john-alderdice

Lord Alderdice has spent a lifetime working on understanding and addressing religious fundamentalism, radicalization, terrorism, and violent political conflict in various parts of the world. More recently he has also been working on the problems of indigenous peoples and their conflicts with the incomers. He consults, lectures and writes on these issues, and has been recognized with many honorary degrees and international prizes, including the International Psychoanalytic Association Award for Extraordinarily Meritorious Service to Psychoanalysis, the World Federation of Scientists Prize for the application of Science to the Cause of Peace and Liberal International’s Prize for Freedom.
